Yen Odell Obituary (1943 - 2023) - Fayetteville, North Carolina

Yen Rose Odell, 80, of Fayetteville, passed due to medical complications related to renal failure and diabetes on October 3, 2023, at her beloved family home. Her loss has left a void that was once filled with positive praise and life-altering encouragement and advice. May we all actively work to fill that void for each other in her honor as we move through this grief. Yen was born to the late Nguyen Thi Dinh and Nguyen Vai Thif, on March 10, 1943, in Vietnam. Besides her parents, Yen was preceded in death by her eldest child Jackie Odell, her husband Ronald Odell, and her son Kevin Odell. May they all dine together joyfully in the afterlife. Yen leaves cherished memories to her middle child, Elizabeth Odell-Fiddler, her spouse Troy Fiddler, and her very beloved three grandchildren; Connor Fiddler, Cailin Fiddler, and Isaac Odell. To feel genuine kindness, love, and faith is to know the force of nature that will forever be Yen Rose Odell. Her wonders in cooking will be missed and those she taught will forever cherish the food she imbued with love. Her remarkable gardening skills and ability to nurture growth out of all living things will forever paint our recollections with beauty and appreciation. The love this one person so easily shared with us is our everlasting and precious gift. Thank you Mom for being a mentor, role model, and the epitome of a beautiful and joyful soul. My life has been blessed with you by my side. There will be a visitation for family and friends on Saturday, October 7, 2023 from 9:00 am until 10:00 am. A funeral service honoring Yen's life will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2023, at 10:00 am. Burial will be held at a later date.
