Retired US Army SFC William Gilbert "Bill" Booth, 87, of Spring Lake, North Carolina, passed away on Sunday, June 28, 2015.\n\nHe is preceded in death by his son, Michael Booth.\n\n Mr. Booth served in the Sea Bees Navy, WWII and Vietnam. He served in the\n\n82nd Airborne and 7th Special Forces. He was a member of the Masons for 50 years. He loved spending time with family and friends and had a passion for horses.\n\n A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 1 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of\n\nAdcock Funeral Home in Spring Lake, NC. Interment with full military honors will follow at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery on Fort Bragg. The family will receive\n\nfriends at a visitation from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM prior to the service at the funeral home.\n\n He is survived by his wife, Betty of 63 years; son, Johnny Booth of Holden Beach, NC; daughter, Shay Owen and husband, Tim of Fayetteville, NC; grandchildren, Jamie, Jody, Jessie, Crystal, Shay and Shawn; great-grandchildren, Nate, Victoria, Haley, Josh, Kaden, Patrick, Kali, Sadie and Madeline; and a whole host of nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his loving dog, Molly.
