William Roy Adcock, 75, was welcomed home by his heavenly Father on Sunday, January 17, 2021. He was a loving father and papa to his two grandsons. He was a very hardworking man with integrity and strong work ethics.\n\nRoy was an Army veteran. He retired from the NC Department of Corrections as a Captain after thirty years. He owned and operated Adcock Carpet Service and formed many long and lasting friendships. He was most proud of his association with Womble's and the Womble family.\n\nRoy enjoyed growing a garden each year and sharing his bounty with family and friends. He loved spending time at his beach house at Myrtle Beach but what he most enjoyed was watching his two grandsons play baseball.\n\nRoy is preceded in death by his parents, Otha and Lola Wicker Adcock, and his beloved wife of forty-six years, Sue O'Briant Adcock.\n\nA graveside funeral service and interment will be held on Friday, January 29, 2021, at 2:00 PM at Harnett Memorial Park with Dr. Mike Armistead officiating.\n\nSurviving is his daughter, Kimberly Adcock Hedgepeth and husband, Ricky, of Bunnlevel; sister, Vena Adcock Hendricks and husband, Joe, of Raleigh; brother, Baxter Ray Adcock and wife, Ann, of Fayetteville; grandsons, William Aaron Hedgepeth and Ethan Dawson Hedgepeth; and special friend, Hilda Butts.\n\nIn lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Harmony Baptist Church, 3566 NC 210 South, Bunnlevel, NC 28323.
