Ms. Virginia Rawls Williams, 80, of Erwin, North Carolina, formerly of Springfield, Tennessee, went home to the Lord on March 24, 2015 with family and friends by her side singing praises to the Lord.\n\nMs. Williams was the loving wife of Bennie Williams for 59 years. She was the adored sister of five brothers and loving mother and teacher to Carol, Michael, Joan and Bennie, Jr. She was a beloved grandmother and great-grandmother.\n\nShe was a stranger to no one and was cherished by all. She was a witness for her faith and love of Jesus, a writer of poetry, and known for her ability to bring laughter, joy and comfort.\n\nHer favorite verse of the Bible was John 3:16: "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life."\n\nA service of celebration of Virginia's homecoming will be held on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at 12:00 noon at First Baptist Church in Linden, NC. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, March 30, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.\n\nSurviving are two daughters, Carol O'Sullivan and Joan Carlson; two sons, Bennie Williams, Jr. and Michael S. Williams. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; and a loyal cat, Samantha.
