Vickey Spain

Vickey Reeves Spain, 72, of Fayetteville, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at her home on June 9, 2025. Born on February 26, 1953, in Thomaston, Georgia, Vickey was the cherished daughter of the late Wade Russell Reeves and Ruby Louise Reeves.

Vickey was a woman of intelligence, grace, and quiet strength. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Campbell University, graduating at the top of her class—an achievement she carried with pride throughout her life. A dedicated wife, loving mother, and adoring grandmother and great-grandmother, Vickey’s life was rooted in family, devotion, and kindness.

She was united in marriage to the love of her life, Terry Joe Spain. Together, they built a life of shared purpose and enduring love. Vickey was deeply loyal to Terry and supported his career wholeheartedly. She found joy in the simple pleasures—crafting beautiful wreaths, tending to her yard with care, and making a warm and loving home for her family.

Vickey is survived by her husband, Terry Joe Spain, of the home; her sons, Michael Brian Spain of Swansboro, NC, and Scottie Joe Spain (Joyce Ann Spain) of Sanford, NC; her daughter, Angel Dawn Spain of Vass, NC; her sister, Sharon Opry of Georgia; her grandchildren: Karsen James Taylor, Brandon Boggs, Alexis Boggs, and Isabella Feeney; and seven beloved great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wade Russell Reeves and Ruby Louise Reeves.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, from 5-7 p.m. at Adcock Funeral Home and Crematory in Spring Lake, NC. A graveside service will follow on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at 2:00 p.m., also at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery.

In honor of Vickey’s generous heart and love for children, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Her family will remember her as a woman of faith, a loyal companion, and a steady presence whose love will continue to bloom in their hearts forever.
