Verlie Rae Moneyhan Fail, 81, of Spring Lake went home to be with Jesus on Saturday, February 5, 2022.\n\nVerlie was born February 2, 1941 in Fayetteville, NC to the late John Floyd (JF) and Thelma Perry Moneyhan. \n\nVerlie was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend to many. Verlie is survived by her husband of 60 years, Harold Fail; sons, Donald Fail and wife, Marcia of Woodbridge, VA and Kenneth Fail and wife Kim; daughter, Lori Fail of Spring Lake; grandsons, Dillon and Dalton of Bunnlevel; brother, Edgar Moneyhan and wife Peggy of Fayetteville; sister Ann Vinson of Fayetteville. In addition to being a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, she was deeply loved by her sister and brother in-law, Dot and Bill Myers of Fayetteville; nephews and nieces, John and Ben Myers, Bobbi Ann and Robert Vinson, Kendra and Johnny Moneyhan, Marci Squires and Lysa Bland.\n\nVerlie retired in 1996 after a long career with Carolina Power and Light Company. She spent her retirement as a loving grandmother, and an active member, Sunday school teacher, and choir member of First Baptist Church in Spring Lake. She also donated her time and energy to helping the Shriner's Hospital through her work with the Cumberland County and Hope Mills Shrinettes.\n\nThere will be a funeral service on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at 1:30 pm at First Baptist Church in Spring Lake. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00pm until 8:00pm Tuesday, February 8, at Adcock Funeral Home and Crematory, Spring Lake.\n\nIn lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Spring Lake, or the Shriners Crippled Children's Hospital.
