Vanda S. Baker Obituary (1937 - 2016)

Fayetteville, NC: Ms. Vanda S. Baker, 78, passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2016, in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. Ms. Baker is preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy T. Baker, parents, Evander and Minnie Sealey Stone, sisters, Ora Helen Stone, Vonnie Mae Aldridge, Margaret Capps and brothers, Jennings Stone and Horace Mitchell Stone, Sr. She was retired from the Cumberland County School System and taught third grade for over 30 years at Alger B. Wilkins Elementary School. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 29, 2016, at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Adcock Funeral Home in Spring Lake with Pastor Robert B. Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Buies Creek Cemetery, Buies Creek, NC. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Surviving are numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Care Clinic, 239 Robeson St. Fayetteville, NC 28301 or to the charity of one's choice.
