Tony York Worrell, 80, of Lillington went home to be with the Lord on February 1, 2021.\n\nTony was born on July 30, 1940 in Harnett County to the late Alton and Thelma McCauley Worrell.\n\nTony leaves behind the love of his life and wife of 57 years, Linda Arrington Worrell; two children, Melinda Brock and husband Timothy, and Chad York Worrell; two grandchildren, Kayla Brock and Kevin Brock; one great grandchild, Paxton Brock; three sisters, Peggy Antoine and husband Ivan, Patricia Spence and husband Harris, and Mary Harris and husband Charles; as well as many nieces and nephews.\n\nTony loved to watch basketball, especially if Carolina was on. He spent his earlier years watching his Tastee Freeze car drag race and running his food business. Tony enjoyed taking his family to the beach and was a past member of Flat Branch Presbyterian Church and a current member of Pleasant Union Christian Church in Lillington.\n\nThere will be a graveside service honoring Tony's life on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Pleasant Union Christian Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Pleasant Union Christian Church, 2164 Neills Creek Road, Lillington, NC 27546.
