Martha Ruth "Susie" Cox, 59, of Linden passed away on February 2, 2020 peacefully at her home surrounded by her family.\n\nSusie was born on March 2, 1960 in Greenville, South Carolina to James William and Marian Ussery Thomas.\n\nSusie was the glue that held the family together with her kind and loving nature. She will be missed by her family and friends. She leaves behind her husband of 29 years, David E. Cox and her five children, Leia Trudeau, Philip Trudeau, Jr and wife Amber, Jon Thomas Trudeau and companion Linda Miller, David Elton Cox, and Ashley Marsh and husband Ron; her grandchildren, Tyler and Katelyn Demace, Dylan and Bryleigh Trudeau, Philip Trudeau,III, and Jon Thomas Trudeau, Jr.; three brothers, James P. Thomas, II and wife Vilma, William M. Thomas, and Timothy G. Thomas and wife Michelle; one sister, Sandra D. Thomas Page; and a host of nieces and nephews.\n\nSusie will be remembered for her big heart and joyful personality. She was always thinking of others before herself and was known as "the walking Golden Rule" by her children. She loved to sew and made many costumes and dresses for everyone she knew. Besides cooking a delicious meal on a whim, she could find a great deal at any thrift store. Susie was a sweet woman who was easy to be around.\n\nThere will be a Celebration of Life service on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. with a visitation prior to the service beginning at 12:00 p.m.
