Susan Roark Osborn, 80, of Sanford, North Carolina passed away peacefully at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital on Wednesday, August 7, 2019 after a short illness. \n\nSusan was born November 30, 1938 in Cortland, New York to the late Dudley B. and Helen Burns Roark. She is preceded in death by her husband Joseph E. Osborn who passed in 2012.\n\nSusan touched many lives with her witty sense of humor, but leaves behind those who loved her dearly. Susan is survived by her children, son, Joseph B. Osborn of Irvington, Kentucky; daughters, Kathleen Mitchell of Dahlonega, Georgia and Kelly Devine of Wilmington Delaware; Twelve grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.\n\nSusan graduated from St. Mary's School in Cortland, New York in 1956 and went on to Canisius College in Buffalo, New York, where she would earn her Registered Nursing Degree. Later in life, she retired from the state of New York where she had been a Social Worker for 15 years. During her retirement years, she became a member of several different women's groups, which included her Bunco group and the Carolina Lakes Women's Golf Club. She was an avid volunteer for Red Cross Blood Drives and served as a Eucharist Minister at St. Elizabeth Ann Seaton Catholic Church.\n\nFuneral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seaton Catholic Church, Fayetteville, NC. There will be a visitation for family and friends prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. in the sanctuary of the church.
