Shirley Ann Cooper Sooter, 79, passed away at her residence on June 06, 2022 while surrounded by her loving family and close friends.\n\nShirley was born on March 11, 1943 to the late Reedus and Louise Shelton Cooper.\n\nBesides the many students she has taught and guided through her lifetime, Shirley's love and memories remain with her husband Calvin Sooter, and their children, Angela Darnell, and husband Nick; Erik Sooter and wife Treva; grandchildren, Brandon Wilson and wife Jamie, Amanda Wilson, Christopher Sooter and Kayla Sooter; three great-grandchildren; brother, Reed Cooper and his wife, Donna; her best friend for over 50 years JoNell Underwood, her husband, Russell, and family.\n\nShirley was a woman of many talents. She loved to shop, loved to cook and always had a way of making people feel comfortable in her presence. She spent over 20 years as a teacher's assistant, faithful and dedicated to all the children she had the pleasure of helping to grow.\n\nIn Lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Shirley's name to Cape Fear Hospice, 2301 Robeson Street, Suite 202, Fayetteville, NC 28305.\n\nThere will be a service honoring Shirley on Friday, June 10, 2022 at 2:00PM at Adcock Funeral Home, Spring Lake.
