Sam Price

–

Sanford, NC

Samuel "Sam" Wayne Price, 86, of Sanford went home to be with the Lord after a long illness.

Sam was born to the late Alton and Lydia Price on July 1, 1935 in Loyal Oak, Ohio. Besides his parents he is preceded in death by his sisters, Barbara Searle, Helen Cunningham, and Analee Schultz.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 66 years, Norma Jean Price and their children, Rebecca L. Bingaman and husband Ty, and Wayne Price and his wife Donna; grandchildren, Jennifer Blank and husband Tyler and Stephanie Leigh Steavenson and husband Tim; great-grandchildren, Andrew Steavenson and Calvin and Sophie Blank.

Sam worked hard to take care of his family. He retired as a maintenance manager from Kelly Springfield after 37 years of service. Because he was a valued and skilled employee, he got to travel to Turkey to help build the Goodyear plant. Prior to retirement he used his craft to build a home at Lake Tillery, and then again after retirement he busied himself building his current home at Carolina Lakes. He and his wife like to travel, and square dance with the Sandpipers, but his greatest joy was being able to look out over the golf course where he got both of his hole-in-one's. Sam was also the resident "Mr. Fix-it" and was often called to a neighbor's house to help solve a problem, most usually with his border collie, Mandy, by his side. Sam was a good man who enjoyed life and will be missed by his friends and family.

There will be a Celebration of life honoring Sam on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at 2:00PM at Adcock Funeral Home, Spring Lake. If you would like to make online condolences, please visit www.adcockfuneralandcrematory.com
