Sallie Mae Holley Barefoot, 87, of Spring Lake passed away on January 12, 2021 at her home. In that moment her soul separated from her body and she was instantly with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He wrapped her soul in a new body that is now free from pain and renewed strength.\n\nSallie was preceded in death by the love of her life and devoted husband of 68 years, Eldridge "Boat" Barefoot and her parents Julius and Kitty Holley and her siblings Dewey Holley and Bettie James.\n\nSallie will be missed by too many to name, but those who will miss her dearly are her son Eldridge R. Barefoot, Jr. and wife Ruth; granddaughter, Tara Barefoot Roberts and husband Mickey; two great-grandchildren, Cole and Caroline Roberts.\n\nSallie was a strong and giving spirit who had incredible work ethic and compassion for others. She would often take care of those around her before herself. She was a devoted teacher, enriching the lives and minds of all of her students over the course of her 41 year career as an educator. She graduated from Campbell College, Magna Cum Laude, while working full time and taking care of her family. Sallie never complained and always gave more of herself and her time to others. No matter how busy she was, Sallie always made time to cook a delicious Sunday meal for her family. Most of all, Sallie loved the Lord and the family she leaves behind and will be missed terribly.\n\nThere will be a graveside service on Monday, January 18, 2021 at Harnett Devotional Gardens in Dunn at 1:00 p.m. To make online condolences, please visit www.adcockfuneralandcrematory.com. Memorial Contributions may be made in her name to Bethel Baptist Church, 1972 Bethel Baptist Road, Spring Lake, NC 28390. Services are entrusted to Adcock Funeral Home and Crematory, Spring Lake.
