Roger A. Mitchell, 69, of Spring Lake went home to be with the Lord on September 11, 2019.\n\nRoger was a devoted member of the United Pentecostal Church of Spring Lake where he was head of maintenance and a volunteer of the Loft. He was known by all of the kids at church as the "candy man" because he always had a pocket full of candy. He was admired and loved by all of his "adopted" children and will be greatly missed. \n\nHe leaves behind the love of his life and best friend, Mary. They had just celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary. Besides his wife, Roger is also survived by his two daughters, Belinda Genwright and Laura Krizan; his four grandchildren, Jeremiah Genwright, Ju'Dah Mitchell, Selah Mitchell and Scott (Joey) Krizan, Jr.; one sister and 2 bothers; and beloved four-legged friend, Dora.\n\nThere will be a memorial service for Roger on Monday, September 16, 2019 at United Pentecostal Church in Spring Lake at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends at the church on Sunday, September 15, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
