Retired MSGT Robert "Bob" Madison, 77, of Fayetteville, NC died unexpectedly at home with his family at his side on Friday, December 24, 2021.\n\nHe battled significant medical issues in his later years but refused to allow them to slow him down as many can attest. \n\nBob is survived by his wife of 59 years, Shelby; daughter Kimberly Raper; son-in-law David Raper of Cary, NC, and special granddaughter Madison "Madi" Raper, of Apex, NC. He is also survived by his sisters, Connie McAllister, Christine and Rae Madison and many other beloved family members and friends. \n\nBorn in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of Robert J. Madison of Florida and Ormond and Kathleen Brooks of Grifton, NC. Bob, better known as Weather Bob, was a retired Air Force veteran and Federal Employee having served most of his time at Ft Bragg, NC. He was well educated, having earned several degrees in science and computer technology. As a Meteorologist for many years, he was a weatherman to his very core and highly respected in his field. He was also well read enjoying many authors, an avid fisherman, loved College and NFL football, Nascar, and spending time at the beach. \n\nA service in Bob's honor will be held on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 in the Adcock Funeral Home Chapel at 12:30 PM. A visitation will take place prior to the service from 10:30 AM - 12:15 PM. Burial will follow the service at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery at 2:00 PM.\n\nIn lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite charity in his memory.
