Spring Lake\n\nRetired SFC Carlton Ray Terrell, 81 of Spring Lake, passed away peacefully at his home Wednesday, August 24, 2022.\n\nCarlton was drafted into the Army in his mid-twenties and retired from the Army after 20 years of unblemished loyal service. He was an avid fisherman who enjoyed cookouts and spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed playing card games, dominoes, horseshoes and board games. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and never met a stranger. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend.\n\nCarlton was born in Alamance County to the late James W. Terrell and Cordie L. Loy\n\nCarlton was preceded in death by his grandson, Michael Ontiveros and his daughter in laws Antonia Terrell and Tina Terrell.\n\nCarlton is survived by his wife of 36 years, Sam Terrell; a daughter, Michelle Ontiveros (Ronald); two sons, Jason Terrell and Chad Terrell; a stepson Roongsukdi Panpreeda; 10 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren with one on the way.\n\nThe family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00AM Thursday September 8, 2022 at Adcock Funeral Home. The Service will be at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Adcock Funeral Home. Burial will follow at 1:00PM in Alamance Memorial Park, Burlington, NC.
