Retired Staff Sergeant Ulysses De Leon Lomeli, 56, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, August 24, 2021.\n\nUlysses was preceded in death by his brother, Alfred Lomeli.\n\nThose left to cherish Ulysses' memory include his beloved wife of 37 years, Peggy Lomeli; his two daughters, Lina Lomeli and Sara (Derek) Carlisle; his parents, Antonio and Virginia Lomeli; his grandson, Jesse Carlisle; and his brothers, Tony and Jay Lomeli.\n\nUlysses was a good man who loved America. After retiring from many years in the U.S. Army, he continued to honor his country by taking up work in Civilian Service. After retiring from Civilian Service, Ulysses found another great love, that being the love of hunting and fishing. His passion for hunting was so great, in fact, that he frequently donned his best pair of camouflage crocs, in case he needed to blend in in a pinch. Above all, Ulysses' greatest love in life was his family. He and his wife raised two beautiful daughters together, and when his grandson, Jesse, was born, he made sure to quickly supply him with his own pair of mini camo crocs. Ulysses was a kind, generous man, who would help anyone who needed it, and he will be very deeply missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
