Ret. SFC Erik Andersen Obituary (1961 - 2022)

Ret. SFC Erik Foss Anderson, 60, of Bunnlevel, passed away on March 4, 2022. Erik was born to the late Stephen Foss Andersen Jr. and Leslie Ontrich Andersen on August 25, 1961 in Washington, DC. Erik leaves his wife of 24 years, Kathryn "Kathy" White Andersen; sons, Jacob Foss Andersen of Levittown, PA and Joseph Lynn White of Fayetteville, NC; sister, Adrienne Andersen of Santa Monica, CA; brothers, Neil Stephen and his wife Beverly Andersen of Gaithersburg, MD and Kirk Leslie Andersen of Silver Spring, MD; aunt, Donna Ontrich Self of Manteo, NC and many other family members and friends. Erik was a great son, brother husband and dad, as well as, a well-respected soldier. He attended Col. E. Brooke Lee Jr. High and John F. Kennedy High School in Silver Spring, MD. Then later took some college classes at Montgomery Community College. Erik retired from the US Army in 2006, after serving his country for 22 years. He married Kathy White on January 10, 1998 who had retired from USAF in October 1997. They had an adventure-filled and loving marriage for 24 years. After retirement he worked for L3, SAIC, ALS and Zero Point. He loved all-things military, history, art, music and craft beer. Erik was a voracious reader and loved to entertain his children when they were younger by changing his voice to match the character. He loved old westerns and proclaimed John Wayne as his idol. Erik's sense of humor, wit, and zest for life will be missed by those who knew him.
