Ray Eugene Adkins Obituary (1922 - 2018)

Ray Eugene Adkins, 95, went to be with his Lord and Savior on June 27, 2018. He was born on October 10, 1922 to Henry and Lenna Adkins. Ray married Laura (Betty) Elizabeth Rousseau on August 9, 1942. They were married for seventy-five years and three children were born of the marriage: Gene Adkins, Henry (Sharon) Adkins, and Lesley (Jim) Garrett. Also surviving is a sister, Cornelia Ann Kepley; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Five generations in one lifetime is a gift from God. He is preceded in death by his parents; grandson, P.J. Garrett; and great-grandson, Luke Warren. Ray was a Marine and fought in the Pacific during World War II. After the war, he and Betty moved to Fayetteville, NC where he worked for Motor Bearings & Parts Company for forty-two years. Ray's greatest passion in life was serving the Lord by sharing the message of salvation, "Hoping that none would be lost".
