Paulette Eliane Vaudois Lay, 93, of Spring Lake went home to be with the Lord on November 23, 2021.\n\nPaulette was born on June 28, 1928 to the late Paul and Therese Vaudois in Commercy, France. She was the last surviving of eight children.\n\nPaulette was a dedicated mother and wife. She dearly loved her family and would do anything to make sure they were taken care of. She leaves behind many friends and family to cherish her memory. Her children, Patricia Thomas, Joel Lay and his wife Dianne, and Danielle Stone and her husband Fulton; grandchildren, Christen Woolley and her husband Jimmy, Joey Lay and his wife Yuliana, Jade Tupper and her husband David, Jordan Lay and his significant other Hope Demetrius, Paulette Jones and her husband Thurston, and Wesley Hyde and his significant other Kristen Dunning; as well as, eight great-grandchildren and many family members in the U.S. and France.\n\nPaulette was a perfectionist in all that she did, and wasn't afraid to get her hands dirty. She enjoyed working in her garden growing beautiful vegetables, sitting in her chair working crossword puzzles, cooking delicious French inspired meals and singing her favorite French songs. However, nothing quite compared to her love for the beach. and No matter where she was, she was always dressed neatly with her hair and makeup done. She was a member of the VFW Post 9103 Ladies Auxiliary and the French Club in Virginia. Above all, Paulette was a simple lady who loved and cherished those who surrounded her.\n\nThere will be a service honoring Paulette's life on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at 10:00AM at Adcock Funeral Home with Father Jack Kelly officiating. Burial will follow at 11:00AM at Main Post Cemetery, Fort Bragg. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 from 4:00PM until 6:00PM at Adcock Funeral Home. Services entrusted to Adcock Funeral Home and Crematory, Spring Lake.
