Pamela Kay Byrd, 66, of Murrells Inlet, SC, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, March 3, 2023.\n\nPam was born August 1, 1957 to Margaret Stone Thompson and Robert Earl Thompson in Erwin, NC.\n\nPam is survived by her daughter, Billie Ryan, and her two grandchildren, John Coker, III. and Savannah Coker; one sister, Debbie Hanks (Jack), and her special little buddy, Papi.\n\nPam grew up in Harnett County, working on her grandmother's (Nora Lee Stone's) farm, where she learned to work hard and praise the Lord. Pam was a life-long member of Flat Branch Presbyterian Church. She served her church as a Deacon, Sunday School teacher, and Youth Director. She loved the Lord and shared that love with others.Pam earned her nursing degree from from Sampson Community College, working as an RN for 40 years. She was a very special nurse who truly cared about her patients.After retiring to Murrells Inlet, SC in 2020, she became the "beach bum" she had always dreamed of being, but after a few years she missed home and was in the process of moving back to North Carolina.\n\nA Celebration of Life service will be held on Monday, March 13, 2023 at 2 p.m. at Flat Branch Presbyterian Church.
