Narvil Lee Smith Sr. was born in Wise County, Virginia on July 15, 1936 and died on September 1, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family.\n\nNarvil was a Korean and Vietnam War veteran. After a long career of faithfully serving his country, he retired from the U.S. Army to work in management with the Bank of America Corporation. Narvil later became the owner and operator of Smith Heating, Cooling and Appliance Repair Company. Narvil took great pride in serving his customers, insuring they were satisfied with all services provided. He was a proud member of the Fort Bragg Lodge #667, Disabled American Veterans, and the American Legion.\n\nNarvil was a loving husband to Betty G. Smith for over 62 years. Narvil leaves behind his wife, 5 children, Cheri Taylor and her husband Harold; Narvil Lee Smith, Jr. and his wife Samantha; Douglas Smith and his wife Melissa; Tina Cochrane and her husband William; Penny Taylor and her husband Pete.\n\nNarvil was preceded in death by his son, Raymond D. Smith; parents, Joseph and Pearl Smith; four brothers and six sisters.\n\nFuneral services for Narvil will be held on Thursday, September 5, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Adcock Funeral Home and Crematory in Spring Lake with burial at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Fort Bragg, NC on September 10, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, September 4, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
