Monserrate Garcia- Ortega Obituary (1923 - 2021)

Monserrate Garcia- Ortega, 97, of Puerto Rico passed away at her daughter's home in Spring Lake on January 27, 2021 while surrounded by her family. She was born in Jayuya, Puerto Rico on October 8, 1923. She was one of twelve children. Her husband Manuel Rosado, who passed away on June 8, 1986, was a World War II Veteran. They were married for 46 years. She devoted her time to her children and the grocery store, which was the family business. For the past 13 months she lived in Spring Lake with her daughter. Together Manuel and Moncerrate raised four children, Ramonita Jimenez and husband Concepcion Jimenez, Roberto Oferral and wife Carmin, Carlos Oferral and wife Lourdes, German Cruz and wife Miriam. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother and she had many nieces and nephews and will be missed.
