Michael "Brett" Tidwell, 27, died Saturday morning, January 16, 2016, with his girlfriend, Jamie Easingwood, from injuries sustained in a one-vehicle accident in rural Cumberland County, NC.\nBrett was born August 25, 1988 in Fayetteville, NC. He grew up in Fayetteville with his brother, Noah, and parents, Kelly and Eric. For the ones that knew Brett, he was the "life" of the party, the risk taker (has been seen jumping off a barn roof into a pool", the person with the infectious laugh, silly smile and generous heart. Once you knew him, you were hooked. He was an athlete that loved baseball. He lived life to the fullest with an appetite for all that came his way. He will be missed greatly by all who encountered him.\nHe is survived by his mother, Kelly Tidwell and father, Dan Wesley Mathis; his step-father and step-mother, Eric and Stephanie Lewis; his son, Jason Tidwell; his brothers and sisters, Noah Lewis, Brittanie McMillan, Kyle McMillan and Heidie McMillan; maternal grandmother, Shirley Tidwell Shaffer; paternal grandmother, Phyllis Lewis and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.\nHe is preceded in death by grandfathers, George M. Tidwell and James V. Lewis.\nFuneral services will be held at First Baptist Church in Spring Lake, NC on Thursday, January 21, 2016 at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park in Fayetteville.\nA closed casket visitation for family and friends will be held at Adcock Funeral Home in Spring Lake, NC on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM.
