Martisha Rankin Briggs Obituary (1962 - 2017)

Martisha D. Briggs, 54, of Providence Forge, passed away on Tuesday, July 11, 2017. She worked as an Instructor/Writer for the Army Logistics University, Fort Lee, Virginia. Martisha served in the U.S. Army during numerous military operations, culminating her exemplary career of 26 years in 2010 after deploying to Afghanistan in support of the War on Terror and Operation Enduring Freedom. She was preceded in death by her father, Chester A. Rankins, and her niece, Stephanie Rankins. Left to cherish her memory are her loving and devoted husband of 33 years, Jefferey Briggs; daughter Ja'Nelle S. (Sonton) Lunnermon; daughter, Natasha Briggs, son, Jefferey (Yolanda) Briggs Jr; grandchildren, Jayden, Ja'Nya, Serenity, Jacen, Sonton II, and Aria; mother, Casendia V. Rankins; siblings, Elaine Terry, Anita (Richard) Hampton, Larry Rankins, Phyllis Rankins, Sharon (Antonio) Green, Avis Rankins, Angela Rankins; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 21, 2017, at 12:30 PM at All American Chapel on Fort Bragg. Interment with the rendering of military rites will immediately follow in Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery on Fort Bragg. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM prior to the funeral service. Martisha, was truly loved by many and will be missed by all.
