Margaret "Peggy" Wertz

Margaret "Peggy" Helen Moyer Wertz, 69, of Lillington passed away on January 24, 2021 at Central Harnett Hospital.

Peggy was born on April 16, 1951 in Union County Pennsylvania to the late James and Elizabeth Chappell Moyer. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by one son Richard Sholly, one grandson, Andrew Koser, and one sister, Crystal Badman.

Peggy leaves behind her husband of 44 years, David "Dave" Wertz who will dearly miss his "Hunbun" as well as her children, Ronald Scott Sholly (Marty), Melissa Koser (George), Robert Sholly (Denise), and Stacy Askew (Kenneth); four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; brothers, James, John, Russell and Tim Moyer, and sister Cindy Buck and her three furbabies, Lucy Lou, Winkie, and Smokey; and many nieces and nephews.

Peggy was a wonderful mother, caregiver, and animal lover. She had a way of taking care of everyone and everything around her with care and compassion, whether she was nursing them back to health or feeding them with her delicious comfort food, especially her apple Greek cake. Peggy will be missed beyond measure.

There will be a funeral service honoring Peggy's life on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at 12:00 noon at Adcock Funeral Home and Crematory in Spring Lake. There will be a visitation prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon at the funeral home. Service entrusted to Adcock Funeral Home and Crematory, Spring Lake.
