Linda Jean Strickland, 67, passed away on Saturday, December 11, 2021. She was born on May 13, 1954 in Ft. Lauderdale, FL to the late Joseph and Olive Messier.\n\nLinda was preceded in death by her parents.\n\nThose left to cherish Linda's memory include her daughters, Nichole (Jason) Smith and Toni Strickland; her brothers, Ronald Messier and Ken (Sandy) Branch; her grandchildren, Dylan Smith, Kayla Smith, and Jayce Jakubiak; her great-grandchildren, Nova Swann, Braison Jenkins, and Cash Smith; and her nieces, Kelly (Chaz) Wendling and Kendra Branch.\n\nLinda was a wonderful woman. She loved nature, especially flowers, so much so that she studied horticulture in college. She adored her daughters and her grandchildren, and greatly enjoyed spending time with them, whether it be at the beach, at their sporting events, or just at the house. She worked for the U.S. Post Office for over 22 years, eventually becoming a Postmistress. After retiring from the post office, Linda worked at the Thrifty Store for several years. Linda was a kind, hardworking, and loving woman, and will truly be missed by all those whose lives she touched.\n\nA Celebration of Life service will be held in Linda's honor on January 8, 2022 at Gourd Springs Baptist Church at 2:00 PM.
