Julius David "J.D." Elliott Obituary (1921 - 2018)

Retired Army SSG Julius David "J.D." Elliott, 88, passed away on Sunday, August 26, 2018 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. "J.D." was a lifetime member of Northwood Temple Church and was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 667, having served in the Masons for thirty-plus years. He was a veteran of Vietnam and Korea and was a recipient of both the Silver Star and Purple Heart award. He loved to spend time with his fellow Masons and Shriners at all their events and clubs. He also enjoyed fishing, dancing and working on his farm. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, August 31, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Northwood Temple Church with Dr. John Hedgepeth officiating. Interment with military and masonic honors will immediately follow in LaFayette Memorial Park. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, August 30, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Adcock Funeral Home in Spring Lake. Surviving are step-sons, David and Pat; a daughter, Pamela Hopkins and husband, Jim, of Lenexa, VA; sister, Elaine; five grandchildren; and a close family friend, Allison Schaberg.
