When Joyce Ann Wilson Wilton was 9 years old, she helped to manage her parents' home; walking through the city to run errands for her mother, intent on serving as an eldest child. Born in Norfolk, Va., in 1939 to Constance Price Wilson and Joseph Edward Wilson, she was a loving older sister who excelled in school and sang solos in her church choir. When she was 13 years of age, she met the love of her life, Orbia Linwood Wilton. From that day forward, a beautiful love story unfolded that lasted 62 years and lives on today in her husband's heart. On the day after Valentine's Day 1955, she married Orbia, and together they shared a lifetime of love serving and loving each other and their family.\n\nJoyce's model of Christian servitude as a daughter grew to her household as a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She took extended family into her home in times of need, cared for the sick and gave her best to those she loved in every moment of joy and hardship. She worked and volunteered for churches and public schools, modeling a life lived for God and family. She loved helping others and bringing people together for family vacations and dinners. Her presence runs like a thread of warm sunshine in the memories of all she touched.\n\nOn Thursday, May 7, 2015, Joyce's suffering from respiratory illness ended as she passed to be with the loving God who filled her with joy and strength in her life. Her surviving family includes her loving husband; siblings, Carol W. Smith and Joe Wilson Jr.; and her three children, Connie Carlock, Pam Borror and Mark Wilton. She is survived by six grandchildren, Tara, Rusty, Josh, Tiffany, Mark Jr. and Kristen; and six great-grandchildren, Christopher, Abigail, Andrew, Emma, Sebastian and Cayden. As she prepared meals in the kitchen, her melodic voice reached the ears of her family, giving them warmth and comfort. Now, that music fills our lives from her spirit in heaven.\n\nServices: Visitation, 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, May 9, 2015, in Northwood Temple Church in Fayetteville.
