Jimmy Elton Upton, 65, passed away surrounded by his loving family on March 31, 2021.\n\nBorn in Oak Grove, Kentucky on February 26, 1956, Jimmy was raised up as a good country man. He loved his classic cars and his Harley motorcycles. He enjoyed his 60's and 70's music, enough to be able to play both acoustic and electric guitar by ear. He loved to crack jokes and have a good time, whether it be on the beach, or on the front porch. Jimmy married the love of his life at the Main Post Chapel in Spring Lake, NC on June 23, 1979. From there he went on to build a family whom he cherished immensely. He was a man of good spirits, with love in his heart for all those around him. Those who held a special place in his heart were his grandkids, who some say were the very thing he lived for each and every day. Jimmy was a kind, loving, and genuine man, and will truly be missed by all those whose lives he touched.\n\nJimmy was preceded in death by his Mother, Dorothy Jane Saddler Losh; his stepdad, Jessie T. Losh; his father, James Elton Upton, and his two sisters, Rebecca "Becky" Taylor and Sharon K. Upton.\n\nThose left to cherish his memory include his wife of 41 years, Diane DelConte Upton; his daughter, Felicia Upton Glanton and husband, Marcus; his beloved grandchildren, Senia and Julian Glanton; his siblings, Patsy Cicarilli and husband, Bob, Linda Litty and husband, Bill, Jerry Upton, and Donna Schaber; and many nieces and nephews.\n\nA funeral service will be held in Jimmy's honor on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at 4:00 PM in the Adcock Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Floyd Benfield officiating. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 3:00 - 4:00 PM.\n\nIn lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association at www.heart.org.
