Ret. SSG Javier Arturo Sanchez, 63, of Raeford went home to be with Jesus on Tuesday, March 9, 2021.\n\nJavier was born on August 11, 1957 to the late Manuel Sanchez and Benedicta Gonzalez Sanchez in Adjuntas, Puerto Rico.\n\nBesides his mother, Javier is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Yeny Sanchez; children, Adolfo (Morgan) Sanchez, Javier Sanchez, and Jose (Isamar) Sanchez; granddaughter Andrea "despeinada" Sanchez; siblings, Manuel, Marta, and Jose Sanchez.\n\nJavier retired from the US Army in 2000 with many service awards and commendations including three meritorious service medals. \n\nJavier was a humble man who loved his family and friends more than anything. Those close to him knew that if a car was left in his driveway a little too long, you would come back to find it freshly cleaned. No questions asked. He was known for his sense of humor, unending smile, and hard working attitude. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. The impact he has made on family and friends can never be forgotten. \n\nThere will be a funeral service honoring Javier's accomplished life on Monday, March 15, 2021 at 9:30a.m. at Rivers of Living Waters of Hope Mills, 1764 Bingham Drive, Fayetteville, NC 28304 with Pastor Jose Miranda officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery, Fort Bragg. There will be a visitation prior to the service from 8:30a.m. until 9:30a.m.Services entrusted to Adcock Funeral Home and Crematory, Spring Lake.
