James Anthony Jones

James Anthony Jones, 27, of Jamestown, passed away Sunday, July 16, 2017.

James grew up in Bunnlevel, NC and attended Harnett Central High School. He joined the US Army at age 17 as a Small Arms/Artillary Specialist. Some of his recognitions include: National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal. His last four years as a veteran were spent being a stay-at-home Daddy for two wonderful boys he loved with all his heart.

A visitation for family and friends will be held at 9:30 AM on Monday, July 24, 2017, at Adcock Funeral Home in Spring Lake followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM. Interment will immediately follow in Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery on Fort Bragg, NC.

Survivors include his wife, Dora Campo; sons, Diego (age 4) and Alex, (age 1); parents, Stacy and Tom Scott; brother, Joshua Williams; brothers at heart, Lance Gunn and Arlie Gunn; sister, Kathryn Scott; grandparents, Leo and Grace Reger; aunt and uncle, Teri and Doug Deberry; cousins, Brianna and Courtney Deberry; father-in-law, Hugo Campo, as well as many brothers and sisters in arms.
