Isabel Bezerra Faulkner, 63, passed away on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 surrounded by her loving family.\n\nIsabel is preceded in death by her parents, Valdemiro Eugenio da Silva and Maria de Lourdes Bezerra da Silva; and a sister, Maria Daluz Bezerra.\n\nThose left to cherish Isabel's memory include her loving husband of 9 years, Sam Faulkner; her children, Karina (Jaco) Freitas, Karlla (Matt) Phllips, and Diego Studant; her siblings, Carlos, Guilherme, Fatima, Gorete, Luis Claudio, Eugenio, Madalena, Antonio, Zita, Glorinha, Rita, Sara, Isabel, and Jo; her sister-in-law, Ann Buttke; her grandchildren, Luccas Pereira, Landon Phillips, Bianka DaRosa, and Caleb Phillips; her special friends, Rita Jones and Eliana Marques; and many nieces and nephews.\n\nIsabel was a truly amazing woman. She was the owner and founder of several businesses including Agencia Mensageiros in Bolwa, Brazil, and, after moving to the United States in 2000, Buana Pizza, a gourmet Brazilian pizza restaurant, in the Arlington/DC metro area. She was an interior designer, a theater director, and even had a degree in acting. Her latest passion in life, however, was for teaching. She worked on Fort Bragg teaching soldiers and FBI agents how to speak Portuguese. Outside of her work life, Isabel was a kind, fun-loving, and spiritual woman. She loved to go to the beach and to travel extensively with her husband, and when she was home she loved being a host to her friends and family, often cooking them extravagant and delicious meals. Isabel's life was so full of adventure and excitement that she even wrote an autobiography, so that others could know all that she had been through and accomplished. Isabel will be truly missed by all those whose lives she touched.\n\nA service will be held in Isabel's honor on Friday, July 2, 2021 at 6:00 PM in the Adcock Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will take place prior to the service from 5:00 - 5:45 PM.
