The days of our lives are like the sands in an hour glass. The scripture tells us that there’s a time for all things so “A time to be born and a time to die” Ecclesiastes 3:2.\nMrs. Ida Blue Carmichael was the daughter of the late Grady & Janie Blue. She was born in Dillon, SC on August 15, 1926. Ida was one of 10 siblings and received her education in the Dillon County School System.\nIda married John C. Carmichael in 1947. She was blessed with three sons. Two sons, Geoffrey and Richard preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by 3 brothers and 6 sisters.\nIda accepted Christ as an early age. She held membership at Old Bethel Presbyterian Church located in Hamer, SC. She later joined 2nd Baptist Church, located at 522 Wilmington Road, Fayetteville NC. Lastly, she joined Williams Chapel Church, located in Spring Lake, where she had been a member for over fifty years.\nIda worked as a sales clerk for many years. She later worked at Holiday Inn as a house keeper until retirement.\nIda is survived by one son Joseph; 6 grandchildren : Nuchon Carmichael (Kiana), Angela Backmon, Tawanda McNeill, Demika Durrah, Vernon (Tiffany) Gayle, and Charles (Nikki) Gayle; 16 great grandchildren, 13 great-great grandchildren, two nieces that she raised, Jenny and Joyce and a host of other nieces, nephews, and cousins.
