Fusako "Kay" Yanagita Michael, 85, of Spring Lake passed away on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family.\n\nKay was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert Michael; and her brother, Suji Yanagita.\n\nThose left to cherish Kay's memory include her son, Ronald (Amber) Michael; her daughter, Connie Michael; three sisters in Japan; her grandchildren, Bradley, Austin, and Haley (Dillion); her great-grandchild, Addy; and two nephews in Japan.\n\nKay always wanted to be a mother. After struggling for several years to have children, she was finally blessed with her daughter and son whom she cherished and adored with all her heart. Kay was a loving, nurturing, and kind mother. Later in life, she was further blessed by becoming a grandmother, and even a great-grandmother. To those in her family she was "Obachan", a lively, creative woman who enjoyed being outdoors, making dolls, going to the spa fitness center, and cooking extravagant and delicious meals for her family. Kay will truly be missed by all those whose lives she touched.\n\nA service will be held in Kay's honor on Monday, May 17, 2021 at 4:00 PM in the Adcock Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 3:00 - 4:00 PM at Adcock Funeral Home. Burial will take place on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at 3:00 PM at Sandhills State Veteran's Cemetery.\n\nIn lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Soka Gakkai International - USA at www.SGI-USA.org.
