Fayetteville, North Carolina

Frank Arthur “DocMac” McMahon Sr.
March 1, 1948 – November 28, 2025
Frank Arthur McMahon Sr., passed away peacefully in Fayetteville, North Carolina, on November 28, 2025, at the age of 77. Born on March 1, 1948, in Camden NJ, he was the son of Edith Eleanor Shrank and Clarence C. McMahon.
Frank proudly joined the United States Navy in April 1965 at the age of 17. Over the next 22 years, he served his country with honor and dedication, completing three tours in Vietnam before retiring in November 1987. During his service, he earned the nickname “DocMac,” a name that reflected his steady presence, reliability, and the care he offered to those around him.
On February 9, 1967, Frank married the love of his life, Catalina L. McMahon (Lontoc). Their 53-year marriage was a testament to devotion and enduring partnership. Catalina preceded him in death, as did his mother, Edith Haggas, and his father, Clarence McMahon.
Frank is survived by his three children: Edith Lynn (Mike) Ferrera, Frances Ashe, and Frank Jr. “Frankie” (Amy) McMahon. He was a proud grandfather to seven grandchildren — Michael, Jessica, Justin, Kyle, Gabryel, Miyah, and Bryson — each of whom brought him tremendous joy.
Frank lived a life rooted in faith, service, and community. He served his church as a dedicated Lay Minister, offering compassion, steadiness, and spiritual support to those in need. He was a life member of the Knights of Columbus, upholding their principles of charity, unity, and fraternity. In his younger years, he volunteered as a Cub Scout Leader, guiding and encouraging young boys with kindness and patience.
Outside of service and ministry, Frank enjoyed the simple pleasures that brought him peace. He loved fishing, finding comfort in quiet mornings on the water, and he was an avid baseball card collector, cherishing the nostalgia and history each card carried.
Frank will be remembered for his strength, warm heart, and unwavering dedication to his family, faith, and country. His legacy endures in the lives of all who were blessed to know him.
Services will be held with Military Honors on December 16, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery, Spring Lake North Carolina
