Endre Nagy Obituary (1931 - 2018) - Spring Lake, North Carolina

Endre Nagy, 86, died Friday at Cape Fear Valley Health with family by his side. A retired U.S. Army sergeant and a Vietnam War veteran, he was preceded in death by three brothers and his wife of 55 years, Roswitha "Rosi" Rorig Nagy. Mr. Nagy was born Nov. 28, 1931, in Sarkadkeresztur, Hungary. He escaped the Communist regime in the 1950s, joined the U.S. Army and met his wife while stationed in Germany. His 20 years of distinguished service led him to locations across the world, including two tours in Vietnam. He earned his associate degree at Fayetteville Technical Institute and worked at Carolina Machine Shop until retirement. He enjoyed playing chess and Pinochle. He is survived by two daughters, Christine Foster and her husband, Gerald, and Cornelia Tinklepaugh and her husband, Eugene; one son, James Nagy; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one brother; one sister; beloved nieces and nephews; and family in Hungary. A funeral will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday, June 5, 2018, at Adcock Funeral Home in Spring Lake. Burial will follow the service at 10 a.m. at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Ft.
