Elizabeth "Betty" Stine Harris, 83, of Southern Pines, NC, passed away peacefully Monday, September 3, 2018.\n\nBetty was born in Charleston, WV on April 8, 1935, to the late Harold Blaine Stine and Mildred Crowell Stine. She was a graduate of WVU and a member of Alpha Phi Sorority. Betty was a high school English teacher whose love of learning and reading called her to give of her time to help others, children and adults, to learn to read. Betty also worked for many years as a church secretary. She was a member of Presbyterian Women, attended First Union Presbyterian Church where she was a Church Elder, and Fort Hill Presbyterian Church.\n\nBetty was preceded in death by her loving husband, W. Maxwell Harris, Jr, and her son James Blaine Harris. She is survived by her son Bill Harris and wife Karen of Sanford NC, and cherished grandson Max Harris; and her brother Bill Stine and wife Sharon of Santa Fe, NM; and many cherished friends who filled her life with love, laughter and joy.\n\nA Memorial Service and Inurnment will be held at in Tarton Hall at Fort Hill Presbyterian Church in Clemson, SC, at 11:00 AM. on Thursday, September 13, 2018.\n\nIn lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Susan G.
