Elder Jasper Samuel McKinnis, 71, of Sanford, NC, passed away on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at Cary Health and Rehab. Center in Cary, NC.\n\nJasper was a lifelong member of Evangelical Fellowship Church in Pleasantville, NJ under the leadership of Reverend Dr. Fred Jenkins, Jr. He worked for the U.S. Department of Transportation in the William Hughes Technical Center for twelve years; Trump Casino and Tower in Atlantic City, NJ for several years and finished his career with Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford, NC and America Moulding and Millwork of Sanford, NC.\n\nHe is preceded in death by his parents, Willie McKinnis and Ida Evelyn Gibson McKinnis; sisters, Carissa, Stephanie and Hannah Benjamin; brothers, Clarence, Willie, Jr., Landon and Ronald. He is survived by sister, Merell Sue Walker and husband, John of Baltimore, MD; brothers, Douglas and wife, Brenda McKinnis of Lillington, NC, Randy McKinnis of Atlantic City, New Jersey and Willie McInnis of Spring Lake, NC; and step-son, Cory Adam Walker of Atlantic City, NJ; two grandchildren, Cory and Makala; and a whole host of nieces and nephews.\n\nFuneral services for Jasper will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 4, 2022 in the chapel of Adcock Funeral Home in Spring Lake, NC. The family will receive friends and family from noon to 1:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will immediately follow at Riverview Memorial Gardens in Spring Lake, NC.
