Mrs. Edith Mae Pate Cameron passed away peacefully to be with the Lord on September 23 in Greensboro, NC where she had been living since December. \nThe funeral service will be held at Oak Ridge Presbyterian Church in Oak Ridge, NC on Saturday, September 25 at 2:00pm with Pastor Marti Hazelrigg officiating. A burial will be held at Lafayette Memorial Park in Fayetteville, NC on Sunday, September 26 at 3:00pm with Pastor Chip Stapleton officiating. The family will be receiving visitors from 1:30-2:30pm at Adcock Funeral Home in Spring Lake, NC. \nEdith was a native of Cumberland County and was born in Manchester, NC. She was the daughter of Howard Bruce Pate, Sr and Thelma Margaret Clark Pate. Edith graduated from Anderson High School and Worth Business College. She worked at various government jobs at several Army military bases during WWII. After the war she worked in civil service with Fort Bragg. In 1950 she married Archie C. Cameron, Jr and settled in Spring Lake. Later they moved to Fayetteville, NC and she worked as office manager and bookkeeper alongside Archie at National Storage Co.\nEdith was a long- time member of Highland Presbyterian Church in Fayetteville where she was very involved with the Women's Circle. Her many passions included family, gardening, sewing, bird watching, singing, and cooking. \nEdith is preceded in death by her husband, Archie C. Cameron, Jr. and her brother, Howard Bruce Pate, Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Victoria (Vicki) Elizabeth Cameron and her son, Paul Jeffrey (Jeff) Cameron, daughter in law, Beth Cameron, and her two granddaughters, Abby Cameron Costin and Emma Juliet Cameron.
