On January 27, 2015, Dwight Pope won the final victory as his name was written into the Lamb's Book of Life - gone from this world to live forever more in that city not made by hands. Dwight was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. He spent his life in selfless service to God, family and the community.\n\nHe served his God with strong Christian faith, his family with unending love, his friends and community with true compassion. Dwight was a registered nurse, former firefighter, paramedic and Medical Examiner. He lived a legacy of dedication and service that is unmatched by all.\n\nDwight was preceded on his voyage by his parents, Hilton and Gladys Pope.\n\nDwight is survived by the loves of his life, his wife, Janie Pope; son, Zachary; and daughter, Jillian; three brothers, Donnie and wife, Lisa, Stephen and wife, Kathy, Dale and wife, Candy, and "brother in heart," Chris Stallings; "sisters in heart," Tamey Stallings and Cornelia Collins. He is also survived by three nephews, Kyle, Shelby and Hilton; and four nieces, Meredith, Emily, Katie and Keira.\n\nA funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at 1:00 PM at St. Matthews PFWB Church in Erwin, NC. Interment will follow in Erwin Memorial Park in Erwin. The family will receive friends at a visitation on Friday, January 30, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.\n\nAs Dwight loved family and friends and all the fellowship that entails, there will be a celebration of his life in the church fellowship hall following the burial.
