Donald "Donnie" Edwin Colville, 71, of Spring Lake went home to be with the Lord and met Dale Earnhardt for the first time on September 19, 2021. \n\nDonnie was born on January 24, 1950 to the late Agnes Howell and James Edwin Colville. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his grandparents, J.W. and Elizabeth Howell and James and Alice Colville, as well as his beloved cat Romeo Dupree.\n\nDonnie was funny, witty, and an all-around good guy who loved his family. He leaves behind his companion, caregiver and best friend, Lorianne Collins; sisters, Vickie Thomas and Sheron "Sherry" Coleman and husband John, and several nieces and nephews.\n\nDonnie liked turkey shoots and shooting the "bull" with anyone around him. He served as a Harnett County Sheriff's Deputy and a Coats Police officer and later went on to work at S&W Concrete. He spent his younger years coaching for parks and rec. Donnie will be missed by those who knew him, but leaves behind many memories with each of them and is now enjoying fishing and telling stories with his cousin, Jerry Latta.\n\nThere will be a funeral service honoring Donnie's life on Friday, September 24, 2021 at Adcock Funeral Home at 2:00PM with burial immediately following at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation for friends and family will be held on Thursday, September 23, 2021 from 6:00PM until 8:00PM.
