Spring Lake, North Carolina

Deborah Johns, 73, of Spring Lake, North Carolina, passed away on March 18, 2026, with her family by her side.

Born on May 28, 1952, in Beckley, West Virginia, Deborah was the daughter of the late Thelma Trynnis Johns and Thomas Lathern Johns. She spent her life devoted to her faith, her family, and serving others in her community.

Deborah was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Spring Lake, where she was deeply involved in many ministries. A true prayer warrior, she could often be found participating in prayer tents both at her church and throughout the community, lifting others up in faith and compassion. Her heart for service extended far beyond the church walls. She was actively involved in local outreach efforts, including fair ministry, providing meals for families in need during the holidays, and participating in the laundry coin mission where she offered both practical help and heartfelt prayer to those she encountered.

Her passion for helping others also led her to serve on mission trips to Ukraine, as well as numerous local missions. Deborah was an advocate for Shield of Badge and was dedicated to causes she believed in, always striving to make a meaningful difference. She also generously gave her time volunteering at Cameron Boys Camp, impacting many lives along the way.

Above all, Deborah loved her family dearly. She is survived by her daughter, Heather Snipes (Harris) of Spring Lake, NC; her cherished grandchildren, Shyanysea Johns, Yavaughn Jackson, and Demyia Johns, all of Spring Lake; and her great-grandson, Raiden Garcia. She is also survived by her siblings: Rebecca Strizek of Wisconsin; Thomas Johns of Pennsylvania; Danny Johns of Wisconsin; Karis Johns of Wisconsin; and Benjamin Johns of Wisconsin.
