Dawson Cooper Green, 93, of Fayetteville, passed away in his residence on Monday, February 1, 2021.\n\nDawson was a twenty-two year Army veteran and also worked for civil service as a Public Health Inspector for twenty-two years. He loved to socialize with his military Army buddies and also to fish and hunt. He enjoyed visits from his family members, holding his baby grandchildren, and sitting in the yard at family gatherings listening to classic country music.\n\nHe is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Betty Francis Green, and a brother.\n\nHe is survived by six children: Mary Frances Baxley and husband, Dean; Patricia A. Sparks; Barbara J. Green; David A. Green and wife, Kim; Donald R. Green and wife, Debbie; Dawson C. Green and wife, Tracy; step-daughter, Deborah L. Calhoun and husband, Darryl; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.\n\nA graveside funeral service and interment with military honors will be held on Friday, February 5, 2021, at 10:00 AM with Rev. Floyd Benfield officiating. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, February 4, 2021, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Adcock Funeral Home in Spring Lake.\n\nServices entrusted to Adcock Funeral Home and Crematory.
