Ret. MSGT Dr. Carl H. Rehrer, Pastor of Lake Rim Baptist Church, went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 29, 2021 at Womack Army Medical Center.\n\n Carl was a native of Lewistown, Pennsylvania. He was the son of the late Sheridan Rehrer and Gladys Bunn. Besides his parents, Carl is preceded in death by his brother, Bill Rehrer and sister, Irene Rehrer.\n\n He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 44 years, Carolyn Rehrer; children, Carl Edward Rehrer, Mark E. Rehrer, John David Rehrer, Laurie C. Rehrer, Stephen Scarbrough, and John Scarbrough; brother, Robert Rehrer; 19 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.\n\n Carl served his country with honor in the United States Airforce where he retired as a Master Sergeant. He retired with 20 years of service and three tours in Vietnam. While serving in the Air Force, Carl was ordained as a Baptist minister. Upon retiring, Carl became a pastor of a number of churches in Fayetteville, NC and Charleston, SC. Carl received his Doctorate in Theology as he continued his ministry. Carl served as principal of New Hope Baptist and coached multiple sports teams. Carl continued to serve in ministry for 49 years, preaching up until his passing. He was deeply passionate about sharing the gospel and helping those in need. Carl loved his sports teams and loved to play church softball, playing well into his 80s. He stood firm on his beliefs and was known for speaking his mind. Carl was a proud father and grandfather, often praising his children and grandchildren for their successes. He was a friend to everyone that he knew and cherished those he loved. He would impoverish himself to bless others. He will be deeply missed. His family will cherish every memory of him, remembering his Godly example, and above all we will praise the God of grace who saved him.\n\nA celebration honoring Carl's life will be held on Friday, November 5, 2021 at Adcock Funeral Home at 12:00 PM. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 10:00 until 11:30 AM. Burial with full honors will follow the service at 2:00 PM at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery\n\nIn lieu of flowers, donations in Carl's honor can be made to Lake Rim Baptist Church at 7758 Raeford Rd, Fayetteville, NC 28304.
