Dayton William "Butch" Holder, Jr., 61, of Spring Lake, NC, passed away on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 in Rex Hospital, in Raleigh, NC.\n\nButch was born to Betty Horton Holder and the late Dayton William Holder, Sr. on October 26, 1960 in Harnett County.\n\nHe is survived by his wife and best friend of over 29 years, Pam Wade Holder; his mother, Betty Lou Horton Holder; son, Travis Holder and wife Megan; daughters, Courtney Holder and husband Charles Leslie, and Hannah Holder; sister, Kathy Langham and husband Mike; grandchildren, Dylan Leslie, Chase Holder and Ellie Holder; nieces and nephews, Summer Martindale and Dustin Langham; four great-nieces and nephews; and his fur baby, Maggie.\n\nButch was parts manager for LaFayette Ford for over twenty-six years and most recently worked at Crown Ford. He was dedicated to his family and loved his grandchildren. He was a Dale Earnhardt fan, loved to watch Tarheels Basketball and Andy Griffith, and found a simple pleasure in riding horses. He was a dedicated Atlanta Braves fan and thought baseball was life and considered the rest "just details" especially when it came to coaching league and travel teams that his son played on.\n\nThere will be a funeral service honoring Butch's life on Sunday, December 26, 2021 at Layton Chapel Church at 3:00pm. Visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service, beginning at 2:00 pm. Burial will immediately follow the service at Harnett Memorial Park, Lillington.
