Burl Richardson, Jr.

Burl Richardson, Jr., age 83 of Spring Lake, NC departed this life on December 2, 2020. He is now reunited with his wife of 44 years, Mary Alice Richardson. He is survived by seven children, Burl Richardson, III (Simone), Cynthia Wearrien, Sandra Rogers, Selma Lackhasingh (Noel), David Richardson, Reginald Richardson (Tiffany), Yolanda Richardson; twenty-four grandchildren and twenty-four great grandchildren; five sisters and one brother; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Burl was born to the late Burl Richardson and Nancy Richardson on October 7, 1937. He attended school in Columbia, SC and later enlisted in the United States Air Force. Burl married Mary Corbin Richardson on April 2, 1955 and they moved to Amarillo, Texas. During the course of his military career, he and his family traveled extensively. He retired in May of 1975 and attended college while working various jobs to support his family. Burl absolutely loved his family and enjoyed talking and laughing with his friends and family.

There will be a visitation for friends and family at Adcock Funeral Home on Saturday, December 5, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Graveside services will be held on Monday, December 14, 2020 at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery, Fort Bragg at 12:00 p.m. Services entrusted to Adcock Funeral Home and Crematory, Spring Lake.
