Buel Sanford Cook, 91, of Cameron passed away at his home on July 26, 2020.\n\nBuel was born to the late Marvin Parker Cook and Clara Adams Cook in Jonesville, North Carolina. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Ruth Sheek Cook and several brothers and sisters.\n\nThose left to remember him are his children, Constance "Connie" Cook Tice (Doug), Dale Sanford Cook (Avis), and James "Jimmy" Cook; one sister, Clara Mae Gilley; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.\n\nBuel faithfully served his country in the United States Air Force, retiring after 21 years. He then continued to serve his community through his electrical contracting business. He loved his family, his garden, and his church family. He enjoyed providing fresh veggies to the neighborhood and riding his tractor and lawn mower. He will be missed by his Tuesday morning men's breakfast club.\n\nThere will be a funeral service honoring his life at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 30, 2020 at Hillmon Grove Baptist Church in Cameron. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the church. Interment will immediately following the church cemetery. In Keeping with CDC and North Carolina Guidelines during the pandemic, masks should be worn and social distancing should be maintained at all times.
