Betty Jo Speight, 90, of Fayetteville went home to be with her Lord and Savior on February 15, 2023 while surrounded by her children.\n\nBetty was born to the late Tellius and Fannie Matthews Sims on February 6, 1933 in Ozark, Alabama and was the last surviving of eight children.\n\nBetty was a woman of strong faith and loved her family and her brothers and sisters in Christ. She was a prayer warrior and found peace in crafting and praying. She was a kind and dedicated mother to her children, Sheila Cain and husband Joel, and Joseph Speight and wife Susan. She often thought about and prayed for her five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, as well as, many nieces, nephews, family and friends. She enjoyed spending time with Christian ministry activities and supported Samaritan's Purse and Operation Christmas Child.\n\nThere will be a graveside service honoring Betty's life at 12:00 noon on Friday, February 17, 2023 at Cumberland Memorial Gardens, Fayetteville.\n\nIn lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial contribution in Betty's name to Samaritan's Purse, 801 Bamboo Road, Boone, NC 28607 or to the charity of your choice.
